Hi and welcome to the Neath Port Talbot Independent Party website. For those of you who are not familiar with, or indeed, may not even be aware of our party, please take a moment to read on.

The Neath Port Talbot Independent Party is not a new party, but a party with a new name. Our core principles are the same. Our pedigree goes back to 1961, formed by like minded residents and business people to create the Federation of Port Talbot Ratepayers and Tenants Association. The Association began in Aberavon, as a means of combating the attitudes of the then Labour Party, and some would say, still exists today, which had literally dominated the Borough Council for decades. An attitude in the labour Party being “We are in control”, “ We have the majority, therefore we can do as we please”.

The Neath Port Talbot Independent Party are non-party political, our councillors on the County Borough Council and Neath Town Council are able to vote independently of each other for the benefit of their individual wards, to learn more about the party or get involved please select from the options below.
